About
We build the identity layer
other products stand on.
A small team building hosted login, tenant isolation, session management, and machine identity, so the products that use us don't have to.
Identity has to be boring, in the way a load-bearing system should be boring
Authreads is a small team building a multi-tenant identity platform: hosted login, tenant isolation, session management, and machine identity, so the products that use us don't have to build and maintain an identity system of their own. See the roadmapfor exactly what's available today.
Identity is infrastructure. It has to be correct every time, isolated between every tenant, and boring in the way a load-bearing system should be boring. That's the bar we build to, and it's why the principles below aren't marketing language: they determine what we ship and what we refuse to ship.
Principles
Three rules that shape every decision
Fail visibly
A misconfiguration stops the affected request rather than degrading quietly. We'd rather a request fail loudly during development than succeed incorrectly in production.
Accessibility is enforced, not advised
A tenant brand palette that fails WCAG AA contrast is rejected at configuration time. We hold our own site to the identical standard.
Honest limits
Where a ceiling exists, we publish it and the reason, rather than let a customer discover it the hard way.
An identity vendor's credibility is the whole product
If you're evaluating Authreads, you're trusting us with the one system that decides who your users are. That trust doesn't come from a claim on this page. It comes from standards you can independently verify (OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, PKCE, WebAuthn, DPoP, Token Exchange), from a security page that tells you plainly what's stored and for how long, and from a roadmap that says what isn't built yet instead of implying it already is.
We'd rather lose a deal to an honest “not yet” than win one on a claim we can't back. See Security and Trust for exactly where that line sits today.
We're early, and we're direct about it. If you're building a multi-tenant product and evaluating how you'll handle identity, we'd like to hear what you're building.
